Migcon Construction approached us for SEO services. The business is situated in a small town, and the website does not even make it in the top 80 when searched on Google. We immediately did a free SEO audit. The website scored an overall score of D.
On completion of the SEO audit, it was evident that little was done to improve their SEO. The page was super slow. This is because most of the images were big and saved as .jpg and .png, whereas they should be saved as next-gen formats (.webp).
There was only one backlink present. One of the most important factors in SEO is backlinks from a highly authoritative site. There was no link-building effort. The keywords were disaster. The H1 tag of the website was not linked to the type of business at all. When we did the audit, Semrush pointed out that the most common "keyword" for the site was a primary school.
There was no basic SEO done to the site apart from the meta description.
The first thing we did was convert most images to webp. files to improve the speed of the site to ultimately keep users engaged more.
Next, we improved the keywords. Migcon is a construction company based in Garden Route. We needed to change the keywords accordingly.
Finally, we started link building. Link building is a lengthy process where we list businesses' website addresses on different websites.
Within a week Migcon jumped from 40 positions on Google. This is purely thanks to the keywords. As the backlinks improve, the website will rank higher over time.
